Sylvia Marquez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC). She graduated with her Master's degree in Social Work in 2019 from New Mexico Highlands University. As native a to the area, Sylvia has a passion to help her community. While she has worked in the clinical field since 2016, Sylvia has been sharing her experience, strength, and hope for nearly a decade. Sylvia is adept in using a variety of clinical interventions including EMDR, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, as well as other industry recognized and proven successful methods.
Styles: EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a psychotherapy utilizing eye movements or other bilateral stimulation to help heal the wounds of a traumatic past. It is effective in treating trauma disorders, anxiety, depression, addiction, phobias, and more.
DBT - Dialectical Behavioral Therapy focuses on emotional regulation. Self soothing techniques such as mindfulness, diaphramatic breathing, and interpersonal effectiveness are taught to faciliate a healthier relationship with emotions.
